Dragon Ball Legends Friend Codes: How to Find, Share & Use Yours
Your friend code is your player ID in Dragon Ball Legends – a short string of 8–10 letters and numbers that other players use to add you as a friend or scan you during Dragon Ball collection events. Here's where to find it, how to share it, and how to actually use the codes your friends send you.
Where to find your friend code
- Open Dragon Ball Legends.
- Tap Menu → Friends.
- Your own friend code is shown at the top of the screen.
Tell your friends to look in the same place – every player has one, and it doesn't change.
How to share your friend code
Copy the code and send it any way you like: WhatsApp, Discord, Reddit, or a group chat with your crew. Since it's plain text, it's much easier to pass around than a screenshot of your in-game QR code – and unlike a screenshot, it never expires, because whoever receives it can generate a fresh QR code from it at any time.
If you collect several codes from a community (for example a friend-code thread on Reddit or Discord during an anniversary event), you can keep them all in one list in the DBL QR generator – it stores the codes locally in your browser and can even share your whole list as a link with one tap.
From friend code to Dragon Ball
During scan events, friend codes are the raw material for collecting Dragon Balls:
- Collect friend codes from other players.
- Paste them into the QR generator – each code becomes a scannable QR image.
- In the game, open Menu → Friends → Scan QR code and scan each QR code from a second screen.
- Each unique player you scan gives you one Dragon Ball.

Is it safe to share your friend code?
Yes. A friend code only lets other players send you a friend request or scan you during events – it contains no account credentials and can't be used to access your account. Never share your account transfer code or password, though: those are completely different things and should stay private.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a friend code?
8 to 10 characters, letters and numbers only.
Can I change my friend code?
No – it's tied to your account and stays the same.
Do friend codes expire?
No. Only the QR codes generated from them expire, because the game wants a fresh timestamp. That's why you regenerate the QR right before scanning.
